While I do have vague curiousity to know who wins comps, it certainly isn't life or death to me. If I don't find out, I can still sleep at night. So it baffles me why so many people are desperate to know what has happened to someone else's net worth. I've seen grown men RUN across casino floors because someone they've never met before has gone all in on a final table.

Do these people slow down for accidents on the motorway? What is it?

I had to laugh once when I was in Brighton and using the computer in the bar area to look at some political or news site. David Colclough was standing behind me and I said to him that the poker scene in the UK was too tournament focused, As I did so, Craig Grant walked past me and breathlessly asked 'Who won it?'. I needed a few seconds to think about it before I realised that he assumed that I was looking for the results of a big comp in Vegas, in which Peter Costa was playing.

I turned to David and said 'This is exactly what I mean'. I explained everything to Craig and he said 'Oh I'm not one of those people who's always wanting to know how others are doing'.

Later on, I was at a table with both Colclough and Grant when Colclough got a text message. He looked at his phone and informed us that it was to say that Peter Costa had come second. In less than a nanosecond, Craig asked 'Did they do a deal?'

Talking of which, how are we going to get attractive young female groupies into the game? That might get the attention of the press, judging by the column inches that this weekend's Sunday Telegraph (and others I assume) devoted to the phenomenon of girls chasing after football players.
